Privacy
ProxChat collects no personal data. We run no servers, we don't have accounts, and your voice never leaves the people next to you.
What ProxChat does not do
- It does not require an account, phone number, or email address.
- It does not connect to any servers or cloud services we operate.
- It does not collect or transmit your location.
- It does not record, store, or upload your voice.
- It does not include analytics or third-party tracking SDKs.
What ProxChat does
- Stores your chosen handle, emoji, color, and channel name on your device using standard iOS app preferences.
- Broadcasts your handle, emoji, color, and current channel name to other nearby ProxChat users so they can see who's available to talk to. The broadcast goes over Bluetooth and peer-to-peer Wi-Fi only, never the internet.
- Streams your voice peer-to-peer while you hold the push-to-talk button, only to phones connected to you on the same channel. Nothing is stored.
Permissions
- Microphone — required so you can transmit voice.
- Local Network — required for peer-to-peer discovery.
- Bluetooth — required for peer-to-peer discovery.
Children
ProxChat doesn't target children under 13 and collects personal data from no one.
